Used Audi A3 S Line cars

The Audi A3 S Line is the sporty-looking trim for the Audi A3 range. It has similar styling details to the high-performance Audi S3, including larger wheels, deeper front and rear bumpers, a prominent rear spoiler and wider exhaust tailpipes. Inside, you’ll find sports seats, a sports steering wheel, aluminium trim on the dashboard and doors, and stainless steel pedals.

The Audi A3 is a family car similar in size to the Volkswagen Golf or Ford Focus. It sits in Audi’s line-up between the smaller A1 hatchback and bigger A4 saloon. First sold in 1996, it has at times been available as a three- or five-door hatchback, a four-door saloon and an open-top convertible. The current fourth-generation A3, sold new since 2020, is available as a five-door hatchback (which Audi calls Sportback) or a four-door saloon.

Since the early 1990s, Audi has produced a high-performance version of many of its cars, identifying them  by the letter ‘S’ in their name – so A3 becomes S3, A6 becomes S6, Q2 becomes SQ2 and so on. These cars have more-powerful engines plus sportier details inside and out. Many buyers like the looks but don’t need such a fast car, so Audi introduced S line models to give you S-car style points without the extreme performance and higher cost to buy and run. S Line trim has been available for most Audis since the early 2000s. 

As of September 2022,  the S Line model ranked third in the A3 range, above Technik and Sport and below Edition 1. The range has changed many times over the years, the models being renamed and reordered, but S Line has always been near (or even at) the top. 

The main difference between S Line and the other A3 models is its sportier styling. Throughout the model’s history, it usually also has a few extra features that models lower down the range don’t. For example, as of Autumn 2022, the A3 S Line had LED headlights but the A3 Sport (one place below in the range) did not.
