Thinking of getting a Ford Focus Titanium?

What is the Ford Focus Titanium?

The Ford Focus Titanium is the best-selling version of this popular mid-size car, available in both hatchback and estate forms. You get loads of features included as standard, a wide choice of efficient engines and excellent value for money.

There are several variations of the Titanium model available. These include the ‘regular’ Titanium as well as the Titanium X, which adds some extra features over the standard Titanium, and the Titanium Vignale, which adds even more features and is one of the top-spec Focus models you can buy.

However, in this article we’re focusing on the regular Ford Focus Titanium model.

What is the Ford Focus?

The Ford Focus has long been a very popular mid-size hatchback and a rival to cars such as the Vauxhall Astra, the Volkswagen Golf and the Honda Civic.

The Focus is available as a hatchback or as an estate, and you can choose from various petrol and diesel engines. There’s even an SUV-style Active version with raised suspension, and the powerful and fast ST hot hatchback.

The latest (fourth-generation) Ford Focus has been available since 2018 and was given an update in 2022 with a revised look and a new infotainment system. Ford has announced it will stop making the Focus in 2025.

What does Titanium mean?

Titanium is a precious metal often used to make things like jewellery and high-end watches. It’s that kind of word-association that led Ford to choose Titanium as the new name for its top-of-the-range models in the mid-2000s. It replaced the old Ghia models, which had a bit of an old-fashioned image. Titanium models had the same standard features as Ghias, but their styling had a sportier edge that appealed to more people.

Where does the Ford Focus Titanium sit in the range?

The position of the Titanium model in the Focus range has varied over the years. It was originally the top-of-the-range model, but by 2023 it became the entry-level model. That’s not because it has fewer features than before; the latest Focus Titanium is better equipped than ever. Instead, the model’s current position in the range reflects the fact that Ford Focus buyers are keen to have lots of features included as standard.

How is the Ford Focus Titanium different from the rest of the Focus range?

If you want to spot the latest Ford Focus Titanium, look at its wheels. They’re 16 inches in diameter and have a 15-spoke design finished in a shade of silver that Ford calls Dark Sparkle. The Titanium also has a chrome front grille surround and LED rear lights. Standard features include sat nav, dual-zone air con and heated front seats.

Older versions of the Focus Titanium have similar styling details – the chrome grille surround is the key giveaway.
