How do I manage my Extended Warranty?

• Updated

If you need to make a claim:

You can do so through the RAC. You’ll be able to choose from a list of RAC-approved garages and book a date and time that suits you.

Before the repair work is carried out, you’ll need to make sure it’s been authorised by Assurant. To do this, the garage will need to contact Assurant on 0330 100 3821 and receive a repair request authority number.

Once the repair work is complete, the garage will also need to forward a repair invoice to Assurant to [email protected], quoting your Extended Warranty plan number.

A note on hire cars:

There’s no hire car service provided with our Extended Warranty. However, if the repair takes longer than eight hours, you may be reimbursed for any hardship caused by not having your car. Full details can be found in the terms and conditions

Booking a yearly maintenance inspection:

To request a yearly maintenance inspection, you can do so through the RAC. You’ll be able to choose from a list of RAC-approved garages and book a date and time that suits you.

Before the inspection is carried out, you’ll need to make sure it’s been approved by Assurant. To do this, the garage will need to contact Assurant on 0300 100 3278 and receive a repair request authority number.

Once the inspection is complete, the garage will also need to forward an invoice to [email protected], quoting your Extended Warranty plan number.

Extending your Extended Warranty:

If you already have Extended Warranty, you can extend it if your car complies with the relevant eligibility criteria around age and mileage. You may be asked to come into a Cazoo Service Centre for a quick car inspection.

How to avoid invalidating your Extended Warranty:

Your extended warranty may become invalid if:

  • You miss a service.

  • You miss a yearly maintenance inspection.

  • You damage the car due to negligence.

  • You use the wrong fuel or oil.

  • A problem occurs from incorrectly or non-genuine fitted parts.

Please refer to the terms and conditions for full details.

Transferring your Extended Warranty cover to a different car:

In some instances, if you have sold the car privately, it may be possible to transfer the extended warranty to the new owner for a £25.00 administration fee. To make the transfer, you'll need to meet the standard transfer conditions as detailed in the terms and conditions. To check if you can transfer your extended warranty, contact Assurant on 0330 100 3821.

Extended Warranty is not transferable to a different vehicle and will remain on your car, even if you decide to sell it to someone else.

Extended Warranty is not transferable to a different car under any other circumstances and instead remains on the vehicle in the event of a change of ownership.

Cancelling your Extended Warranty:

Once you’ve taken out your extended warranty, you have a 14-day cooling off period. Within this time, you can change your mind and cancel for a full refund if you haven’t made any claims. If you have any questions before you sign the agreement, please give us a call on 020 3901 3488 and we’ll be happy to talk you through it.

If you change your mind after the 14-day cooling off period, you can still cancel your plan. You’ll receive a partial refund if your car has been written off and you haven’t made any claims. For more information, read our terms and conditions.
